MEGA.AI | October 2026 Newsletter

Welcome to the MEGA.AI Monthly Newsletter for October 2026
We launched our new website in October 2026, which provides up-to-date content, including Blogs, Podcast recordings, LinkedIn Live recordings, case studies and product updates.
Example: www.mega.ai/bpo-collections-case-study
This will feature new international business partnerships with major financial services firms. Q4 has started very well with more investment in the pipeline along with a number of new client announcements in the UK, Europe and North America. We head to Canada in the first week of November to support Chris Warburton and Simon Howard on 5 November 2026 in Toronto.
We featured the new ELLIE collaboration with IE Hub at the AI Implementation Forum on 15 October 2026 in Milton Keynes. More on this further down.

AI Implementation Forum – BSI offices in Milton Keynes – 15 October 2026
MEGA.AI supported this innovative and interactive event at the BSI offices in Milton Keynes on 15 October 2026. Chris Warburton and Kevin Still were the hosts for the day along with partners from BSI, where ISO 42001 (Responsible AI Governance) and ISO 22458 (inclusive design and consumer vulnerability) were discussed in the morning session.

The ‘buzzer round’ sessions are always popular, and Martin did not disappoint with his roving presentation. There was a MEGA.AI LinkedIn Live during the break featuring the new ELLIE product development with IE Hub. Gareth was our guest.

Martin interviewed Chris Hague from Bill Gosling in the podcast studio after Chris had supported one of the panel sessions. This was a cross-sector event, reflecting regulatory AI initiatives across a number of sectors. It was a great networking event.

LinkedIn Live Recording – 15 Oct 2026
Well, the prediction was 80 live in the audience at the AI Implementation Forum at the BSI offices on 15 October. It was 79.
We estimated that we would have 150 virtual registered attendees. We had 153.

The session supported the general themes of the day around the need for likeminded collaborations.
Whitepaper - AI in Debt Collection and Debt Advice

Following on from the AI Implementation Forum on 15 October 2026 at the BSI offices, Chris and Kevin reviewed the FCA good practices and areas of improvement around AI adoption published on 19 October 2026. They also recorded a de-brief on the forum one week after. Recording link below.

Enterprise AI readiness starts before the technology

At the start of September 2026, we held a LinkedIn Live session with Adam Thornber from Bridgeforce. The Blog is now available online from Adam and the recording of the session. Kevin has also produced a Blog around risk management, which is highly topical at the moment. Watch out for more updates balancing innovation with the necessary safeguards by market, covering the UK, US and Europe.

CP26/38: FCA Financial Crime Guide (FCG) updates - Vulnerability Management

The FCA has published CP26/38 with a response deadline of 24 December 2026. The FCG needs to keep pace with emerging risks, such as those linked to AI. There are a number of references to consumer vulnerability. This is a key area of focus for MEGA.AI into 2027. It is difficult to progress into 2027 without clear inter-linked AI and Data governance strategies, especially if you are using more than ‘off-the-shelf’ AI tools and LLMs.
The largest uplift is in demonstrability: regulated firms should be able to show how risk assessments drive onboarding and monitoring, how senior management receives and challenges MI, how third parties and automated tools are governed, and how incidents, alerts and intelligence lead to documented control changes. AI adoption features strongly.
The proposed FCG expects firms to identify vulnerability early and use it to tailor fraud prevention, monitoring and support for customers.
- At onboarding and throughout the relationship - the FCA treats it as poor practice to discover a customer’s vulnerability only after fraud has occurred
- In transaction monitoring - staff trained to recognise signs of vulnerability that may increase fraud risk
- In customer warnings: Warnings should be risk-based, clear, timely and tailored to the customer profile, rather than generic or passive messaging
- After a fraud event: Martin pictured with Nigel Bryant from the Vulnerability Registration Service (VRS). VRS and Smarter Contracts spoke at the AI Implementation Forum.
Proposals link to the Consumer Duty standard of care. Secure data sharing is a priority to avoid further consumer detriment. Many on the newsletter circulation will be looking at the risks post-onboarding (e.g. in the arrears & debt management processes).

The Vulnerability Passport links inclusive design with a trusted ID&V process and ability to share support needs, including communication preferences and multiple vulnerabilities.
This should help:
- Preventing repeat victimisation
- Offboarding victims without considering risk-based alternatives = poor practice
- Management oversight: Fraud MI should include trends in customer vulnerability and behaviour, so SMFs can identify and escalate emerging risks
Kevin, VRS and Smarter Contracts are discussing some of these topics with Connect Managed Services on 24 November 2026 in the cinema at the Treehouse Hotel in Manchester - the "Future of Customer Engagement". The FCA has set the bar at a high-level:
"Managing vulnerable customers is no longer simply a regulatory obligation. It's becoming a defining measure of how effectively organisations deliver customer experience, manage risk and build long-term trust."
