MEGA.AI | August 2026 Newsletter

Welcome to the MEGA.AI Monthly Newsletter for August 2026
Despite the drought and summer holidays, we have had a very productive August with live events including representatives from the US and Canada. Our thanks to Michael McGuire and Simon Howard. There has been no slow-down in international collaboration and RFP response activity. Live shows have featured the Digital DRA, IP Integration, and StepChange Debt Charity since the July newsletter went out.
IE Hub visit MEGA.AI co-founders in Copenhagen

Peter and Martin met up with Gareth and Mark, directors of IE Hub, earlier in Copenhagen in August 2026 to continue workshops around the affordability use case that was featured in the July 2026 Newsletter. After a couple of productive days, they stopped for a hydration break in the square close to the office. The outcome..

Credit Services Association (CSA) conference on 10 September 2026
Director, Kevin Still, is chairing a panel session with Ofgem and the Digital DRA around moving towards outcome-based regulation in Utilities & Energy. This will include input from debt resolution providers in the energy sector, as arrears levels continue to rise and the debt relief scheme is implemented by providers and their debt resolution partners.

This comes after the Ofgem consultation closes around the 7 outcomes the regulator is looking to deliver in phases, with billing being the first overlaid with the Consumer Vulnerability Strategy (CVS), covered in the last newsletter.
This appears to be a major opportunity for ecosystem partners to make a difference.

MEGA.AI is a supplier member of the CSA. We are delighted to have Daniel Spenceley, Head of Policy, attending the AI: Insight to Action event on 24 September and Chris Leslie, CEO, attending the AI Implementation Forum on 15 October. Both events are detailed below.
We look forward to seeing many of you on 10th September.

Upcoming events
AI Implementation Forum – BSI offices in Milton Keynes – 15 October 2026
A great opportunity to catch up with your peers and meet some of the AI innovators and delivery partners driving major FinTech initiatives.

MEGA.AI is supporting this innovative and interactive event at the BSI office offices in Milton Keynes on 15 October 2026. Chris Warburton is host for the day along with partners from BSI, where ISO 42001 (Responsible AI Governance) and ISO 22458 (inclusive design and consumer vulnerability) will come up in discussion through the day. The live demo sections are always popular, along with insights around how to build your business case. There is a MEGA.AI LinkedIn Live during the day with a range of guests and podcasts. This is a cross-sector event, reflecting regulatory AI initiatives across a number of sectors, including ICO oversight.
Adrian Webb is covering AI Acceleration: Importance of Data and Dangers of Fraud. Building public trust is key. Adrian is Co-Founder and Executive Chair of OutcomePath, a technology and strategy advisory business. He is an expert in interpretation theory and linguistics-led fraud detection within current regulatory frameworks. As well as the Mills Review progress around AI in Financial Services, we will discuss AI in Debt Advice. There will be a lot of focus around inclusive design especially around Affordability Assessments and Vulnerability Management.

ICO consultation on their corporate strategy

In June 2025, the UK Data Use and Access Act (DUAA) confirmed the ICO’s transition from a single Information Commissioner model to a Commission structure with a non-executive Chair, Board and separate CEO. Paul Arnold's August 2026 update referenced that AI and Cyber Resilience were 2 of the 4 key areas of focus. These are areas where the risks are greatest, where public trust matters most, and where ICO intervention can make the strongest difference.
Messages echo the findings of the Mills Review report from July 2026. Building trust is imperative and recognising the rapid rate of consumer AI adoption. This is a key facet of the MEGA.AI go-to-market strategy. In terms of cyber-resilience, the UK is the most targeted country in Europe, with more than 600,000 organisations experiencing a breach last year and national economic losses exceeding £14.7 billion annually. Risk management has to sit closely alongside every innovators ambitions, as we have seen from recent RFPs, where there is more and more emphasis on monitoring how AI is embedded in new platforms and QA frameworks.
The draft strategy sets out the ICO regulatory approach, including use of AI as a regulator. Collaboration with other regulators is recognised.
The importance of scalable QA Frameworks

During the course of August 2026, the FCA published some good and poor practices around the redress plans of Motor Finance providers in the UK. There are many relevant messages from this around any enterprise transformation programme, notably those involving AI for a range of purposes (e.g. consumer engagement, data analytics, process automation). This is probably relevant to some of the upcoming transition programmes (e.g. Debt Relief Scheme in the energy sector) that we are seeing, that impact essential service providers and their supply chains. The Motor Finance redress scheme involves complex distribution chains. The FCA feedback is designed to help firms strengthen their plans. We have focused on Operational Readiness, Population Identification and QA frameworks. AI adoption requires new ways of thinking around QA sampling and outcome monitoring.

MEGA.AI is working with partners in these ecosystems, including systems integrators and those that orchestrate effective data sharing and interoperability.
We have recently had IP Integration and Debtrak on LinkedIn Live discussing these challenges. Recent RFPs are highlighting breadth and depth of QA requirements involving strategic use of AI, which will be a key topic for the events we are supporting on 24 September and 15 October. Kevin is supporting an AI Investment event with IP Integration on 10 November.

We are nerdy about:
- Latency, because every second of silence is another second closer to a hang-up
- Connection rates, optimised before the call even starts
- Affordability, built into the conversation itself, not bolted on after
- Vulnerability, recognised in real time, not spotted too late
We don't measure success by how many calls AI can make. We measure whether more customers answered. Whether more customers engaged. Whether customers had a better experience.
AI: Insight to Action - 24 September in Stratford-upon-Avon

This is a follow-up to the ‘AI: Real Life’ event in March 2026 and the LinkedIn Live event on 19 June 2026. We team up with Acquired, Debtrak and DebtStream.

Kevin is moderating 3 sessions with some fantastic guests. Looking forward to catching up with clients, partners and new faces. This is really about delivery and lessons learned.

Ongoing focus around vulnerability identification at the earliest opportunity

The collaboration between MEGA.AI and the Vulnerability Registration Service (VRS) matters to us. Integrating this check into ID & V checks is becoming a best practice, especially ahead of the new Vulnerability Passport App launch in Q4 2026. Watch this space!
IP Integration Spotlight event around AI investment in Financial Services & Insurance – 10 November 2026 in London

We are delighted that UK director, Kevin Still, is supporting this IP Integration event in the Insurance & Financial Services sectors in London on 10 November 2026. He is joined by Nigel Bryant from partner the Vulnerability Registration Service (VRS).

Congratulations to VRS on their collaboration with Qualco UK and their TOGGLIT service, announced in August 2026. Across insurance and financial services, AI investment is accelerating. They explore this in more detail with linkage to the Mills Review recommendations and the vulnerability frameworks to balance innovation and the necessary safeguards.
